About

An assistant that calls, not a push you swipe away

FocusCall is a reminder app that phones you instead of sending a push. The idea came from r/ADHD: thousands of people saying they have tried every task app and ignore every notification, and that what they actually want is what wealthy people have — an assistant who calls.

My own product: concept, flows and the mobile app, for iOS and Android.

Problem

A push is easy to dismiss. A call demands an answer

A push is easy to dismiss and easier to never see. A phone call demands a binary answer: pick up or not. For someone with ADHD that difference is the whole product.

The community was explicit about the rest: it has to call again if you do not answer, it must never shame you, and it should be a voice with a name, not a robot.

Solution

Say it out loud, get the call, answer with one key

Designed the loop around the call itself: say the task out loud, get the call at the right minute, answer with one key — done, in an hour, tomorrow. Nag mode escalates if nobody picks up.

Calendar sync turns events into calls automatically. The interface stays quiet on purpose — the app's job is to interrupt at the right moment, not to organise a life.
